Built on industry-standard Ethernet infrastructure, the Flash Reader is easy to install and maintain, wired or wireless, on a reliable network. The Flash Reader will even continue to operate if offline.
The Flash Reader possesses an easy-to-read screen with exciting, animated graphics on a large, bright display. The LED-illuminated body of the reader can be customized to flash in any of 65,000 available colors. Set a color to communicate the transaction status to your guest. Set a color to show the status of the game itself. Set a color to indicate groups of games. The possibilities are endless. With the animated video screen, integrated sound, and customizable lights, the Flash Reader provides the best guest experience of any reader in the industry.
The Flash Reader features a compact, surface mount package designed for easy installation. The reader is connected to a controller placed inside the machine. If physical damage occurs to the reader, it is simply unplugged, 2 bolts removed, and replaced. This protects the critical internal electronics from external damage.
The Flash Reader uses bar code technology based on optics instead of magnetic swipes which require contact. This means less maintenance and more reliability.
The Flash Reader can be obtained with internal wireless capability. A facility may be set up with master wireless access points which allow games to be rearranged without consideration for network cables. For a hard-wired installation, Ideal uses industry standard technology so that networking gear is available off-the-shelf and easy to work on.
Operation is simple and intuitive for both the operator and the customer with the Flash Reader. A site-branded game card is purchased from a strategically located kiosk or with Ideal POS systems. The self service kiosk includes a color touchscreen and simple instructions for buying a game card or adding value to an existing card.
The card becomes the “electronic wallet” for funding purchases as soon as it is dispensed. If additional card value is desired, the guest can "recharge" the card at the kiosk with cash, a debit card or a credit card. To initiate game play, the card is simply swiped at the reader mounted on the game. The screen on the reader will indicate the account balance (eliminating the need for additional equipment to check card value balances) and prompt for play.
The Flash Reader also provides excellent flexibility. It can be configured to use a currency of cash, points, or both based on the needs of your facility. Time Play and Free Play options allow guests to play redemption games without winning tickets. The system can be configured so that redemption games can continue to issue paper tickets or e-tickets which are stored on the card based on the preference of each guest.
The Flash Reader is just one component of the Ideal Cashless System. The greater value is in the tools, which give operators the ability to see real-time information about each game or attraction as well as the ability to generate reports to learn more about their customers' purchasing and spending habits.
