Game Card Readers

The Ideal Game Card Reader is the most advanced reader available. This intelligent reader can operate as a standalone device (i.e. consume card value) when there is a communication failure (i.e. wired or wireless) or when the server itself is down. This guarantees maximum reliability. Ideal readers use bar code technology, which is based on optics and not magnetic swipes (contact). This means less maintenace and more reliability. Ideal readers are easy to install since each reader is a single unit mounted on the game - no internal boxes to figure out how to mount and connect to the reader. Ideal uses industry standard technology so that networking gear (including wireless) is available off-the-shelf and easy to work on. 

Built on a stable, Ethernet-based network, Ideal's reader features a compact, self-contained surface mount package designed for easy installation and the elimination of unnecessary electronics installed inside the game. A single CAT5 cable interfaces the game to the server where the software provides game control and card value management. Operation is simple and intuitive for both the operator and the customer. A site branded game card is purchased from a strategically located kiosk or with Ideal POS systems. The self service kiosk includes a color touchscreen and simple instructions for buying a game card or adding value to an existing card.

The card becomes the “electronic wallet” for funding purchases, as soon as it is dispensed.  If additional card value is desired, the guest can "Re-charge" the card at the kiosk with cash, a debit card or a credit card. To initiate game play, the card is simply swiped at the reader mounted on the game. The LCD screen on the reader will indicate the account balance (eliminating the need for additional equipment to check card value balances) and prompt for play.
